Chariton County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm someone’s live custody or release, obtain an official booking record, post bond, or act for a public agency. Send those questions directly to the appropriate county, court, state, or federal office.

Official Record Routes

The Chariton County Sheriff is the verified first contact for a live custody question, the current jail or roster owner, and the proper custodian for a local arrest or booking record. County sources do not publish a separate Sheriff records line, a Chariton booking-photo fee schedule, an online Sunshine request form, a booking-photo release policy, or fixed Sheriff hours. Two general county listings conflict on weekday office hours, stating 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call before visiting or relying on a schedule. Current physical housing may be outside Chariton County.

For a public court record, filing question, or certified copy procedure, contact the circuit clerk. The prosecutor can address its office’s role in a filed criminal matter, but the office should not be assumed to hold a current booking photo or roster. The Circuit Court and Prosecuting Attorney pages provide the county’s official listings.

  • Chariton County Circuit Clerk: 306 S. Cherry Street, Keytesville, MO 65261, 660-288-3602. Start with Case.net for a public filed case, then ask the clerk about a court copy.
  • Prosecuting Attorney Cliff Thornburg: 306 S. Cherry Street, Keytesville, MO 65261, 660-288-3275. The office handles felony and misdemeanor matters in the county.
  • Keytesville City Hall: 404 W. Bridge Street, Keytesville, MO 65261, 660-288-3745. The reviewed material does not establish it as a separate law-enforcement records office.
  • Missouri State Highway Patrol: use the official arrest search for Highway Patrol arrests within its five-day online window, or the Central Repository for an older agency record.
  • Missouri Department of Corrections: use the DOC Offender Search only for the state-custody or supervision population, not as a local booking roster.

A Missouri Sunshine request is governed by RSMo §610.023. Identify the person, approximate date, arresting agency, and exact item sought, then ask the custodian whether the Sheriff, contracted facility, MSHP, or another office owns the record. The statute calls for a prompt response, generally no later than the end of the third business day, or a written explanation of a lawful delay. It does not promise that every requested record or photograph will be released. Ask for a fee estimate and the written legal basis for any withholding; no Chariton-specific amount was found.
